Таковы слова 40-летнего Петера Тагтгрена – музыканта, продюсера и креативного лидера PAIN. Вся его жизнь связана с музыкой, преодолением рубежей и продвижением логичных и безумных идей. За время своей карьеры он успел создать и возглавить три группы – Hypocrisy, The Abyss и PAIN, а также продюсировать такие известные метал-группы, как Celtic Frost, Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, Immortal и др. Это сделало его одним из самых известных шведских музыкантов и продюсеров. Однако с новым альбомом он сделал ещё один шаг вперёд. Теперь, по его собственным словам, он готов превратить PAIN в лучшую группу своего жанра, которая будет известна всему миру.

Карьера Петера началась в Hypocrisy, группе, исполняющей athmospheric death metal, которую он сам основал в 1990 году и до сих пор возглавляет. Но в 1996 он понял, что хочет писать музыку и в другом жанре, более близком к heavy metal. Однако менять направление Hypocrisy он не хотел, поскольку группа ещё отнюдь не исчерпала себя. Так и появился на свет проект PAIN.

Сольный проект, в котором Петер сам исполнял партии на всех инструментах, по замыслу должен был принадлежать к стилю heavy metal. Но в один прекрасный день он сел за компьютер и начал экспериментировать с битами и рифами, цепочка потянулась, и получился совершенно ни на что не похожий саунд.
